HOT TAKE: JUST ANOTHER GREAT RACE

ANOTHER day, another remarkable Great Race, not that that piece of news should come as a particular surprise. Here's our immediate reaction from another day of high drama, and everything else, that the great Mountain delivered. WORDS: Richard CraillIMAGE: Mark Horsburgh / SupercarsTWITTER COMPILE: Mark Walker THIS WAS the day the asterisk was removed from Shane van Gisbergen’s career CV. It was the day Garth Tander joined a list of rare elites with a fourth Bathurst triumph. It was the day the Holden legacy was appropriately celebrated as the factory team, in its last ever race, defeated a flying Ford

WORDS: Richard CraillHOT / NOT COMPILE: Mark WalkerIMAGE: Mark Horsburgh / Supercars FASTEST CAR DELIVERS WHAT a sensational Top-10 Shootout and what a lap from Cameron Waters. INSIGHT: A STRANGE, STRANGE BATHURST..

THE FACT this is a very strange year for Australia's Great Race has been well documented - but what is it like on the ground? Journalist Lewis Isaacs is there and reports that while it definitely is the Bathurst 1000, it certainly doesn't feel like one. WORDS: Lewis Isaacs The year was always going to be an odd one. The curveballs thrown up in 2020 don’t need to be repeated here, we’re all living them. But sometimes, it all sinks in at once. For years I’d picture a dream run into Bathurst. A year with no traffic. No queues anywhere

BATHURST QUALY DAY: THE MORE THINGS CHANGE..

THE FANS, at least in their majority, weren't there for qualifying on Friday and they won't be on Saturday, either - it's an odd Bathurst 1000. But as GARRY O'BRIEN remembers, it's really not that different to how it once was. WORDS: Garry O'Brien IMAGE: Kelly Racing QUALIFYING DAY on Mt Panorama for the 2020 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 in some respects takes me back to a day long gone. It is 1975, there were no support category races and on Saturday afternoon barely a soul was on top of the mountain: Just a few campers and locals. Also there

WHAT WE LEARNED + FRIDAY HOT / NOT

QUALIFYING day at Mount Panorama didn't let us down, with lots of drama and an intense 40-minute session at the end of the day that delivered a superb result for Mustang fans. Here's our take on the day that was.. WORDS: Richard CraillHOT / NOT COMPILE: Mark WalkerIMAGE: Mark Horsburgh / Supercars HOLDSWORTH THE STAR RIGHT, so we’re happy to admit to being a little bit biased at this point because NTI Australia, the company behind Lee Holdsworth’s major backer Truck Assist, has also been a major supporter of The Race Torque for more than a year now.
