Australian Speedway Centenary Celebrations

The Race Torque’s massive 2023 of motorsport rounded out on a high with the Australian Speedway Centenary, which was hosted at North Brisbane Speedway over two nights. Opening with the sidecars, the event was brought home on the second evening by the solos, with a world class field attracted to the event. The meet marked 100 years since the first recognised speedway bike races, which were contested in Maitland in December 1923, with the Aussie spectacle going on to take over the world. A $100 million motorsport facility in Western Australia has seemingly hit the skids, with the Club Moolia block recently appearing on the real estate market while the development has also headed to the courts. Formula SAE Australasia found a new home this past weekend at Calder Park, with the region's best and brightest tertiary institutions battling out for significant bragging rights. As first-time visitors to the event, we could be nothing but impressed on multiple fronts. From the different engineering philosophies to brilliant craftsmanship and genuine camaraderie among competitors, it was all there. From internal combustion to pure electric and even autonomous vehicles, the showcase painted a fascinating look into the future tech coming to the automotive world. The A to Z of Supercars 2023

Dale Rodgers takes a deep dive into season 2023 with a comprehensive A-Z of everything Supercars. Enjoy! A – Adelaide 500. The precinct was immaculate, the added features well thought out, and the concerts sensational. Having the likes of Richard Childress in the Erebus bunker, Dave Kindig and Kevin Schiele hosting the Kindig Custom Car Show bought a lot to the event. Oh, the 2 x 250 km races to close the season were also highly entertaining. In its second year since the hiatus, the crowds flocked to the parklands—a great way to finish 2023 and crown a new champion.
