JCRE UNVEILS DEBUT LIVERY FOR BATHURST DEBUT

IN FRONT of the iconic statue commemorating the motor racing legend that inspired their passion for motorsport, Johnston Craill Racing Enterprises (JCRE) has shown off their first ever racing livery ahead of the opening round of the Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Series this weekend in Bathurst.

In front of the National Motor Racing Museum’s tribute to the King of the Mountain, Peter Brock, a distinctive and bright livery carrying JCRE’s primary Orange and Black colors was unveiled for this weekend.

With the wrap material provided by JCRE partner Graphic Art Mart in Adelaide, the livery includes backing from key partners City Rural Insurance Brokers, BX Lager, Pro Fab Weld, Hooligators All American Diecasts, Tonsley Crash Repairs and Heinrich Performance and Tuning.

Those backers are in addition to primary support from Check it Out Graphics and The Race Torque.

The team makes its debut this weekend at Mount Panorama having purchased their Ford Mustang-bodied Aussie Racing Car late last year.

The car has undergone a complete ground-up rebuild prior to a pair of test days, one each at Mallala and The Bend.

While this weekend’s Bathurst round marks the team’s debut, it won’t be driver Asher Johnston’s first time at Mount Panorama.

Johnston remains the Circuit Excel lap record holder at the iconic 6.2km circuit and is a multiple winner in the one-make Excel competition.

JCRE makes its Aussie Car debut this weekend with practice, qualifying and the opening race of a busy weekend on Friday.

ASHER JOHNSTON

“It’s been a long road getting to this point so to see the car here at Mount Panorama and ready to race, is surreal.

“We’re very proud of the way the car looks and to show it off in front of the statue of the hero who inspired both Craillsy and I as kids, is pretty special.

“We’ve been flat out since late last year going through every part of the car and making it as good as it possibly can be.

“We’re not underestimating the challenge of stepping into a category like Aussie Racing Cars. It’s hugely competitive and there are some incredibly talented drivers and strong teams involved. We’re going into this with eyes open knowing the challenge ahead.

“At the same time, we’ve given ourselves every opportunity to be competitive.

“We make no bones about the fact we want to challenge for the rookie honours this year and we think that is a goal we can achieve.

“We shook the car down at Mallala and then had a really positive day at The Bend which was incredibly valuable ahead of Bathurst to get an understanding of the car on a high speed circuit.

“We’re as prepared as we can be and the rest is up to the Mountain giving us a hand and being kind to us this weekend!

“We have to send special thanks to everyone who has helped get us to this point and hopefully we can deliver some results for them this weekend.”
