The most fun you can have for $30

Let’s face the facts, $30 doesn’t go very far in 2022. And in motorsport, it truly won’t get you much. You could buy a one-day spectator ticket for a state-level circuit racing meet. Or you could enter a khanacross. We are indebted to Gadget Productions for the wonderful images and video that accompany this story – many thanks to Andy for providing them! Back in July, I visited my first khanacross – a grass-track event contested at the Pakenham Auto Club’s grounds– and was immediately hooked, vowing to get out there and have a go. That particular day started out

We documented the foundation of the National tour in this story, so we suggest reading that first. But that long period of stability for the second tier of the sport sure delivered some incredible things. From Ricciardello-versus-Hossack, night racing, live streaming and more, here's a

Nationals: the story of the stable second tier series that could

AS THE rain lashed The Bend Motorsport Park on a wet, ultimately depressing Sunday afternoon in late October, an unheralded Australian Motorsport success story slipped quietly into the history books. As the transporters headed off into the sodden afternoon and the circuit fell quiet, the tenure of Australia’s longest lived second-tier national motor racing series came to a quiet and all too anticlimactic close. Sunday marked the final round of the Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships, which in 2022 will be replaced by the new ‘unified’ SpeedSeries, run jointly by both Motorsport Australia and the Australian Racing Group. It places a

The Bathurst lap records that aren’t lap records

NO CIRCUIT in Australia has a lap time so passionately chased and coveted as Mount Panorama. The lap record at the iconic circuit has long been a target for individuals, brands, corporations and more as the ultimate arbiter of what is quick in Australian Motorsport. Bathurst is the one circuit where just about anyone can remember off the top of their head what a decent lap time is - mostly because of Greg Murphy's 'Lap of the Gods' heroics. Go quicker than that and you're impressive. Get close to two minutes and you're a hero. Go slower? Come back next
