After first jumping behind the wheel of a Hi-Tec Oils-backed Camaro at the tail end of the 2024 TA2 season, Farr recently stepped up into the Trans Am Series at Symmons Plains Raceway, where he mixed it with the best of the Pro-Am competitors. REIGNING Trico Trans Am Series champion Todd Hazelwood swept all before him at the opening round of the 2025 season, claiming four victories from pole position at Hi-Tec Oils Race Tasmania from Symmons Plains Raceway. Steering clear of the trouble that claimed many competitors, the current Bathurst 1000 champion led home Ben Grice and Tom Davies in the overall point score for the event. “That’s the perfect weekend, four wins, pole position, the championship lead, I don’t think I’ve done that in a while,” said Hazelwood. “A massive thanks to my whole TFH Racing crew; we had a pretty rough

TODD Hazelwood’s perfect weekend in the Trico Trans Am series has continued at Hi-Tec Oils Race Tasmania from Symmons Plains Raceway, with the reigning champion claiming his third straight victory in a race that was marred by a spectacular first-lap pile-up. Initially, James Golding (CTE Mustang) and Nash Morris (Norwell Motorplex Mustang) became entangled going under the bridge on the opening circuit, with the field scrambling in reaction. Ultimately, 14 cars were involved or delayed by the accident, with the track becoming blocked. Fortunately, all drivers were able to walk away. Included in the car park were Mark Bailey (Jax

TODD Hazelwood’s Trico Trans Am title defence is off to a flying start, after cruising to victory in the weekend’s second race from Hi-Tec Oils Race Tasmania at Symmons Plains Raceway. Subsequent to claiming pole position and the Saturday race win, the reigning Bathurst 1000 victor was seldom troubled in the 25-minute-long race. “Jimmy (Golding) was on my tail, so I was trying to manage the tyres and gap as best as I could,” said Hazelwood. “I had to sacrifice a tyre yesterday, so we are essentially one tyre down in our tyre bank, so I was just trying to

TODD Hazelwood has made a dream start to his Trico Trans Am Series title defence, capitalising on a mechanical gremlin for early race leader James Moffat, as the capacity field turned on the action at Hi-Tec Oils Race Tasmania from Symmons Plains Raceway. Hazelwood himself had an action-packed race, with multiple issues seeing his result ultimately saved by a late safety car. “Oh man, I had to fight for that, it wasn’t easy!” said Hazelwood. “We had a slow right-front puncture from contact with Moff at the start. “I was struggling to pull it up under brakes, and I lost

TRANS Am rookie Chase Hoy walked away from a qualifying session-ending crash at Symmons Plains Raceway, as reigning series champion Todd Hazelwood claimed the $1,000 Trico Pole Award. Hoy ran wide coming onto the pit straight, hit the barriers, and came to rest in the middle of the circuit, with the cleanup cutting the 10-minute-long session short by 4 minutes. The Holinger Racing squad now face an uphill battle to return the Mustang to the circuit this weekend. The session started in sensational circumstances, with the top 16 cars from practice slowly crawling around the circuit, trying to find clean

JAMES Moffat has fired a warning shot early in the Trico Trans Am Series season, topping the lone practice session ahead of this weekend’s Hi-Tec Oils Race Tasmania at Symmons Plains Raceway. The LMCT+ Mustang driver put a clear 0.2116sec over Nathan Herne (BlueGold Industries Mustang), with the pair of former champions quick throughout the 30-minute-long session. Supercars driver James Golding was third aboard the CTE Mustang, just ahead of Todd Hazelwood (TFH Racing Mustang) and series newcomer Jordan Cox (Schaeffler Mustang). Another rookie in the form of Lachlan Evennett (CAMM Racing Mustang) was highly impressive in sixth, ahead of

REIGNING Trico Trans Am Series champion Todd Hazelwood will be looking to get his title defence off to a flying start this weekend at Symmons Plains Raceway for Hi-Tec Oils Race Tasmania. Now leading an expanded TFH Racing squad, which is fielding six entries in the event, the 29-year-old Bathurst 1000 champion is aware of the step up in competition for the new season. “This year coming into the series there is obviously a stacked field, I think everyone has seen the growth of the category, and how good this category is for the future development of young talent,” said
