Andersen, AA Racing link with Johnston Craill for expanded team

SOUTH AUSSIE racer Kim Andersen and his AA Racing team will join the Battery World Aussie Racing Car series at Symmons Plains Raceway this week. Andersen, fresh from a recent campaign at the Bathurst 6 hour where his AA Racing squad fielded two entries, has purchased a Ford Mustang-bodied Aussie Racing Car and will link with Johnston Craill Racing for his maiden season. BLAKE Tracey’s breakthrough podium in the Trico Trans Am Series at Bathurst on Sunday came in trying circumstances, with the rookie driver checking himself out of the medical centre to compete in Sunday’s race. THE final race of the Trico Trans Am Series at Mount Panorama ended with a red flag, as a slick track on top of The Mountain claimed multiple drivers. Des Collier (TFH Racing Mustang) was the first to come unstuck when he hit the wall at the top of The Esses, with the track subsequently coated in fluid as he cleared the scene. JAMES Golding has claimed the opening race win for the Trico Trans Am Series at Mount Panorama, surviving a single-lap sprint to the finish after an action-packed 45 minutes of racing. JUST like the opening round of the Trico Trans Am Series at Symmons Plains Raceway, James Moffat has placed the LMCT+ Mustang on top of the practice timesheet at Mount Panorama, as a 41-strong field took to the circuit. Coming into the weekend fifth in the standings, Moffat is looking for a big weekend to get his championship chase back on track, with the multiple Bathurst 1000 podium finisher setting a benchmark time of 2:11.8440sec, some 0.1468sec clear of the field. Second in the session was Moffat’s GRM stablemate James Golding (CTE Mustang), ahead of Nash Morris (Norwell Motorplex Mustang).
