The 1998 AMP Bathurst 1000 will go down in the history books as one of the greatest Great Races of all time. However, outside of the blockbuster racing, that long weekend in October failed to deliver – crowds weren’t engaged, and neither were the manufacturers or global Super Touring competitors.
