Like a generation of Brisbanites, my childhood memories are packed with evenings spent at the Brisbane Exhibition Speedway. From the cars to the bikes, the action on the nearly round quarter-mile track was fantastic. From the time Rugby League immortal Wally Lewis tipped his Litre Sprintcar on its side to the times the folks on the hill would have to back away from the fence so the demo derby could commence, it was all great stuff.
