THE 2022 RADICAL Cup Australia Series will go down to the wire at The Bend Motorsport Park this weekend, as the equal-largest field of the year takes to the South Australian circuit. 19-cars will front for the title-deciding event that will see five drivers in three cars battle for the outright title. Winners in the Radical Masters and Rookie standings will also be confirmed this weekend. Sydneysider Chris Perini leads the championship by just 18 points heading into The Bend’s pair of 45-minute races, with 84 points up for grabs across qualifying and racing this weekend. AUSTRALIAN-based team McElrea Racing will join the Porsche Carrera Cup North America presented by Cayman Islands in 2023, marking their first step into competition in the United States. McElrea Racing has established a separate US base of operations in Mooresville, North Carolina, and will field a multiple-car team in Porsche Carrera Cup North America championship next year. Their existing Australian operations will continue unaffected. The team has signed one exciting Australian driver, to be announced in coming weeks, with others to be confirmed at a later date. THE REPCO Bathurst 1000 has drawn its largest TV audience in five years, with the conclusion of the race and the podium celebrations drawing a larger national audience than the NRL Grand Final. Fox Sports released their total audience number today, confirming a record average audience of 524,000 watched the race across their platforms. This includes 346,000 on Fox Sports' linear channel and a further 178,000 on streaming platforms, including Kayo Sports. This, combined with the 1,360,000 who watched nationally on Channel 7, takes the average audience for the entire race - all 6 hours 41 minutes of it -

THE Repco Bathurst 1000 has appeared to have broken the trend of major sporting events experiencing soft TV ratings in 2022. Following record or near-record low national audiences for both the NRL and AFL Grand Finals, the 2022 Great Race looks to be one of the most-watched in the last three years. An average audience of 1,117,000 watched the entirety of the race, comprised of 774,000 on Channel 7 and 343,000 on Fox Sports. THE FINAL Edition of our inside the Wildcard diaries documents just one thing - the 2022 Great Race. The 2022 Bathurst 1000 definitely did not disappoint: It had every classic element that The Mount Panorama circuit loves; rain, sun and many, many safety cars.
