JB’s SL/R 5000 for Sale
JOHN BOWE'S now iconic Holden Torana SL/R 5000 is on the market and looking for a new owner. Ahead of the final three rounds of Bowe's 'Ciao for Now' season in the Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters Series this year, the Torana is now being offered for sale. The car was significant as it was the first time that Bowe had actively campaigned anything other than a Ford in TCM competition and his first time behind the wheel of a Holden in regular competition throughout his entire career. Built by Bendigo Retro Muscle Cars in 2014 and early 2015,

Record audiences have tuned in and turned out to watch the Shannons SpeedSeries across the first four events of the 2023 season. Substantial increases in broadcast audiences on Stan Sport and the Nine Network have been matched by attendance growth across the four rounds held so far, in Tasmania and at Bathurst, Phillip Island and Winton, respectively. Meanwhile, record digital engagement across social media channels has helped grow the online presence of both the SpeedSeries itself as well as the participating categories. Broadcast Partner Stan Sport has seen more than 13.5 million minutes streamed live across the three events so

ALEX DAVISON has claimed his first Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Championship round win since 2016 thanks to a stunning start in the final race of Round 3 in Townsville. Davison had chased Race 2 winner Max Vidau hard earlier on Sunday but launched perfectly in the finale' to grab an early lead which, coupled with Vidau being shuffled down the order on the opening lap, helped deliver him his first win since June 2016. Vidau finished second overall and Jackson Walls third in a critical weekend for his championship and Michelin Junior title hopes. Meanwhile, Sam Shahin claimed

ON FACE value alone Shane van Gisbergen’s remarkable win in Chicago is only good for the Repco Supercars Championship. But there’s more to the story that will have ramifications for the championship in the short and longer-term future that are worth considering. Lead Image: Courtesy Trackhouse Racing THE GOOD MUCH as it was a few years back when Scott McLaughlin claimed his maiden IndyCar win, van Gisbergen’s instant NASCAR success shows just how good the pointy end of the Supercars pack is. We’re prone to rolling out the ‘most competitive Touring Car championship in the world line’ perhaps once too

Rankings are always a hot topic at The Race Torque. Outside of the Power Rankings, we also rank the Repco Bathurst 1000 co-drivers each year, so it seemed only fitting to have a crack at some mid-year rankings - not of the drivers, but this time around, the Supercars Championship teams themselves. But comparing the performance of a four-car squad such as Brad Jones Racing to the single-car operation of Blanchard Racing seemed a bit unfair. So, we have gone with the official Supercars Teams points, splitting the BJR and Tickford teams into two lots of two. Make sense? Oh,

WE'VE reached across the oceans to help put Shane van Gisbergen's mighty win in the NASCAR Cup Series debut on a street circuit into context. Owen Kelly, who has been there and done that in US Stock Car Racing and helped advise Shane on his NASCAR debut, joins the show to discuss the enormity of the result. Then we're joined by full-time Cup Series Journalist, Jeff Gluck from The Athletic, to get the US angle and see what it all means from a stateside perspective. Finally, in a massive show, Team 18's head honcho Charlie Schwerkolt swings past to discuss

The rest of the team here at The Race Torque know full well that I don’t deal with close finishes very well. Frankly, the end of today’s Chicago Street Race was a pretty stressful rollercoaster – the sort of stress I haven’t endured on a Monday morning since handling Marcos Ambrose’s PR for Watkins Glen in 2011 and ’12. But when SVG finally hit the lead with a handful of circuits remaining, the result was never in doubt. NASCAR threw everything at him, but the best in stockcar racing came up way short. You don’t become the first debutant race

A SERIES-FIRST Top 10 shootout with a twist will set the grid and a Pirelli Pole Award for the fifth round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS at Queensland Raceway. The entries in the shootout will be the fastest ten cars from Qualifying 2, with the times in that session set by the nominated Pro driver in each entry. However, the Shootout - to be held on Sunday
